A menu is an overview of selection criteria of program-functions. They are of multi-level hierarchical structure. The first sub-menu level which in turn can be sub-structured into further menu levels can be reached by the first step, the main screen

First it is necessary to define the master data like 'Country-Code' (LKZ), 'Currency-Code' (WKZ) and 'Company-Chart of Account' (KTP) before you can define the 'Company Data' (GES). Those data are mandatory fields in the application GES.
Also it is necessary first to define the 'Company Chart of Account' before you can allocate or import accounts
The following figure shows connection within the master data.

IDL Konsis is a multilingual system, i.e., that the system language can be modified. At present the system can be used in German and in English. Additional language versions are in preparation.
Also the data-part underlay the multi-lingual ability. That means that the master-data could be registered multi-lingual or could be imported in foreign language. Therewith the user is able to maintain independently of the system-language for example an account-plan in French or Dutch etc. The different language variations are distinguishable by the language-tag which is located to the concerning master-data.
In the application 'Users' (USE) and 'Company startup data' (VOR) it can be fixed if the screen contents e.g. the account name should be shown in a different language as in the master data. In many applications language is changeable dynamically in the flag 'language'.
Figure: changing translation text of an existing data-record
As it is shown in above example, the key remains the same (25010 = account number, G070 = position). Merely by the divergent language key (DEU or ENG) the respective language representation is distinguished in the system.
NOTE: If a translation (e.g. for the draft of the accounts) has to be inserted additionally it should to be paid attention on the language key. If data translated to English does not enclose the right language-tag (DEU instead of ENG) the existing data would be replaced by the German text of IDL Konsis.
If a data-record of IDL Konsis is copied to another record of the same category the copy-procedure executes multi-lingual. That means if a French translation of a report-position exists it shall also be copied. The user has to take care that the copied object also contains the French text of the report-position.
