IDL.XLSLINK is now started in mode AUTOX86X64 by default at webstart connections with the server and thus determines on its own whether Excel is installed in the 32-bit or in the 64-bit mode.
The additional dialogue for commit of the abort is no longer output after abort of the login process.
Environment variables like e.g. '%appdata' from now on can be used in the entries of IDL.XLSLINK. Thus e.g. you can define and use a variable '%idlwebini' for dynamic specification of the path for searching the ini file (idlgui.ini).
Entries in the settings now can be moved for a more clearly arranged display.
It is now displayed on the pages of the XLSLINK references as an additional information, whether the formula defines a read or a write function.
After entering a link to an Excel cell now at once the value of the cell is displayed in the information area in the header of the formula editor.
For the purpose of optimisation of database accesses data of selection boxes are saved intermediately in a cache. There now the filter criteria are considered, too, providing that a reset of the cache is only required if the data have changed in IDL.KONSIS in the meantime.
The read and write functions of IDL.CONNECTOR (old) are no longer developed from release 2016 on. Running Excel worksheets may be continued to be used, however, there will be only limited support by IDL. From this release on only IDL.XLSLINK is supported for these purposes. Only IDL.XLSLINK can be used in connection with the 64 bit version of MS Excel. IDL.XLSLINK requires at least the version Microsoft Excel 2007.
Since the Excel entry form is technically based on IDL.CONNECTOR the IDL.CONNECTOR programs are still delivered with this version.
