IDL.XLSLINK

Table of contents

1 Application IDL.XLSLINK

IDL.XLSLINK requires a Java Runtime Environment (jre) for connection to IDL.KONSIS.FORECAST. Its path is usually specified in the configuration file bridge.ini. However, this file is often not available in terminal server installations (e.g. Citrix). Then now a window for entry of this path opens automatically.

2 Excel Addin

As a supplement to the IDL.XLSLINK addin now additional addin for the functions for creating an Excel entry form can be installed.

3 Read Functions

The read function for intercompany account balances now allows for the unload of values in transaction currency. However, if appropriate thereby amounts of different currencies are summed.

A selection field for the transaction date was supplemented in the read map for fixed asset transactions.

When reading data on group level (KA...) then now amounts from quota-consolidated companies are considered correctly with their percentages.

4 Export Functions

If an Excel sheet contains hidden lines with XLSLINK formulae for export then these data are only exported if "complete sheet" had been selected. If, however, "Selected area" was selected, then hidden lines are no longer considered.

The runtime of export functions was significantly reduced.

New export functions were realised for the data stocks User groups (BEN), Report IDs (RID), Charts of positions (POP) and Transformation groups (UMS).

5 Conversion of IDL.CONNECTOR References

If an Excel map contains external links and the directory structure has changed, the Excel triggers requests for the current directory for the link. These requests are now suppressed.

6 Excel Entry Form

Since the Excel entry form is technically based on IDL.CONNECTOR the IDL.CONNECTOR programs are still delivered with this installation. However, you now find the functions for generation of entry forms in a separate addin beneath the IDL.XLSLINK addin. The installation and deinstallation of this addin can be invoked from the menu of the IDL.XLSLINK main application.

The entry form component display data in report structure. It now applies the position/account allocations valid in the actual period. Please note that the new table K020 for position/account allocations (see above) contains a validity interval. Accounts without allocations in the actual period due to validity restrictions are no longer contained in the form.

7 IDL.CONNECTOR

The read and write functions of IDL.CONNECTOR are no longer developed since release 2016. Running Excel worksheets may continued to be used, however, there will be only limited support by IDL. Now only IDL.XLSLINK is supported for these purposes. Only IDL.XLSLINK can be used in connection with the 64 bit version of MS Excel. IDL.XLSLINK requires at least the version Microsoft Excel 2007.

If you have many and extensive Excel maps with IDL.CONNECTOR formulae the transition to IDL.XLSLINK may be a major project. In this case it is recommended to arrange support by an IDL consultant.
