IDL.FORECAST

Table of contents

1 General

1.1 Data provisioning for business intelligence (BI) also as a CSV file

BI provisioning now offers a dialog in which you can choose to export to the BI data to database tables or export to the CSV file format. The account changes, the account balances and the IC balances can be selected separately for the CSV export. The character encoding is compatible to Excel (UTF-8). The CSV export creates the files in your standard export directory. Existing files are overwritten without prompting. The exported files are structured in the same way as the database tables.

You can use these options also with the PAPAR application (planning process parameters). The export to the BI database tables is preset.

For using the BI provision from the planning monitor (PM), the company must be assigned to a planning process parameter so that the BI provision can be started. The execution is logged in the PLANLOG application.

2 Szenarios

2.1 Different source data type as standard

The scenario wizard now assumes that a different source data type should be used in most cases. Therefore, the field "select different source data type" was renamed to "select source data type" and is arranged above the field for the target data type. If you want to work with identical source and target data types, the checkbox "Without source data type" must be checked.

2.2 Copying scenarios

Handling was made easier for many companies when copying scenarios. It is now possible to check or uncheck all companies with one button.

2.3 Show message if the saving of a scenario is delayed

If two users save a scenario at the same time, the user now receives the message "Wait, because other user is saving .."

3 Update and write balances

3.1 'Update balances' when rules are applied

For certain cases, the 'Update balances' function can now be set that it is not automatically necessary to generate new adjustment changes even if rules are applied or MSAL changes are made.

In the scenario and balance variances display there is now a 'Source balance update' button that is activated by default if the source data type differs. If activated, changes from rules and formulas are calculated during 'update balances', so that the balances from IDL.KONSIS are compared with the balances from the scenario without changes to rules and formulas. If a balance is updated, the change from rules and formulas is added to the IDL.KONSIS balance before the balance is set in IDL.FORECAST.

Everything, which is not an opening inventory, not an automatic change or a manual changes is not regocognized as caused by rules / formulas. Exception is carry forward from ACTUAL.

In the balance variance display there is a new optional column 'Balance without postings', where the balance is shown in the scenario without rules / formulas. The column is only shown when compared with the source data type.

The rules for the balance sheet update are as follows: Since the opening balance also contains the total of the rule and formula changes of the previous periods, not only the changes from rules and formulas of this period are calculated for balance sheet balances, but also the 'cumulative' rule and formula changes of all previous periods. When calculating the status for the deviations from the source data type, the procedure would return a red status as soon as the reconciliation ACTUAL -> FC / PLAN was carried out if no balance sheet balances were planned in IDL.KONSIS. Therefore, a difference is only recognized if the current change in an account is not empty.

If the source is the same as the target data type, 'Update balances' works according to the previous procedure.

3.2 Additional message when writing balances, if not all balances could be written

If "Write balances" is canceled due to a balance lock in the master data, the cause is now displayed. This is also shown in the log.

4 Rule templates

4.1 Blocking rules against (accidental) deletion

To avoid accidental deletion, a lock can now be set / removed in the context menu of the rule templates. When deleting templates / template folders, an additional security question appears.

5 Rules

5.1 Transfer of account number when new transfer rules are created

To simplify matters, a new transfer rule now takes the previously selected account no. from the dimension table as the source account.

6 Planing monitor (PM)

6.1 Same description of the planning processes

The designations of the planning processes in the planning monitor now have the same designation as in the selected processes in the PA application (planning processes).
